Choir Director
Purpose: The goal of the music ministry at Gloria Dei is to enhance our
worship life,
recognizing worship as our primary reason for being as God’s people.
Our 35 voice Sanctuary choir needs a director!
This ministry includes:
*selecting music, arranging and leading rehearsals and directing
performances.
*helping the choir appreciate varied Christian musical styles and
develop their skills,
*working with the accompanist and other instrumentalists,
*serving as a part of the Music Staff,
*a September through mid-June schedule.
Qualifications for the Sanctuary Choir Director:
*Bachelor Degree in Music or Music Education and two (2) years
experience
coordinating or directing or performing with musical groups (church
setting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
*Ability to develop and oversee a choral program in effective
partnership with
Church staff and volunteers, i.e. communications, interpersonal skills
and scheduling.
*Familiarity with Lutheran worship and varied musical styles.
Salary: $5,260.00 annually
